LIGHT BETWEEN THE CRACKS
This meditation booklet includes art and writings.
Those who are incarcerated are often have often fallen into the cracks of our society. They are out of sight, invisible, feared by the public and marginalized.
In the darkness and pain of jail life, healing light often only comes in through the cracks: between cracks of time in the rigid schedule of meals, showers, shift changes, lockdowns, or between the physical cracks of bars or cell doors through which words can be shared, or between the pervading times of depression, addiction, loss and isolation.
Light comes in through the cracks during the chaos through connection caring, faith-based volunteers who visit and creative programs of art and writing that tap into the very human hearts & souls of those incarcerated.
Light comes out through the cracks in this inspirational gift to us all: pages of art and writing done exclusively by inmates in which they share their hope, their love, their gratitude, their faith, their prayers- and their belief that transformation is possible.
