Corporations spend great sums of money to perfect their images for television. They know that video is an experiential medium. The better the experience, the more the viewer will be inclined to remember what they see. This is why you see corporations spending millions of dollars on television advertising. They know it's worth a lot to show memoriable quality images.

With the advent of High Defenition Television (HDTV), the television experience is even more powerful and realistic than ever before. HDTV pictures are five times sharper than regular TV. Just take a look at the picture on the right. The top NTSC strip shows what you see when you watch a standard tv signal on VHS. The next strip at 480 lines is digital television (typically DVD's). Finally the last strip is 1080 lines of resolution of HDTV. You can really see and almost feel the dramatic differences!

According to the Yankee Group, HDTV monitor sales is expected to rise to 20 million by 2008 and half of U.S. consumers intend to buy an HDTV as their next tv purchase. By the fall of 2005 Sony is expected to introduce a blue laser HDTV-DVD player. This would enable corporate clients to start taking advantage of HDTV for in-house marketing and educational uses.
